Spyridon Stais

Spyridon Stais (1859–1932, in Greek: Σπυρίδων Στάης) was ministry of education at the time of the Antikythera wreck discovery, key person for the setup of the official dive.
Subsequently, he was the first to notice the fragments of the Antikythera Mechanism during a visit at the National Archaeological Museum, on Saturday, May 23, 1902 (Julian calendar - so May 23 in our current calendar).
